Monday 24 April, 11 miles.

Hawkridge to Dulverton.

Dulverton to Bampton.

In Lewis's very nice Tea Shop in Dulverton.

Tuesday 25 April, 11.5 miles.

Bampton to Tiverton.

On a steep hill we were warned about cats

A very steep hill between Bampton and Tiverton.

Tiverton to Bickleigh.

Crossing a stile between two very muddy fields

The mud between Tiverton and Bickleigh soon drove us uphill.

Wednesday 26 April, 14 miles.

Bickleigh to Bramford Speke.

There was a lot of mud on the road

The road between Bickleigh and Bramford Speke.

Bramford Speke to Exeter.

We dry out and warm up in front of a roaring fire at the Agricultural Inn at Brampford Speke

A welcome rest at the Agricultural Inn, Brampford Speke.

Thursday 27 April, 8 miles.

Exeter to Turf Locks.

Vast sheets of water covered the floodplain near our path

The area between Exeter and the Turf Locks was flooded.

Turf Locks to Starcross.

A train rushes behind us at the end of the journey

Waiting at Starcross for a train and a ferry.
